Shopping Utopia: Z Zegna Opens First US Store Today
Opening their first ever stand alone store in the US today, Z Zegna has expounded upon—in more brick and mortar terms— the beautiful, sartorial threading of their “Utopian Summer” themed summer ’13 collection. Said collection will be the first to have its own home in the states—Z Zegna at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles. We’re feeling good about the attention the Z Zegna store will give to Ermenegildo Zegna’s younger, more forward-thinking project that’s been turning out tight collections from the beginning (2007) but especially under the helm of designer Paul Surridge. The “Utopian Summer” collection, the second from Surridge, fastidiously melds luxe with leisure, precision with playfulness, and serves up the idea that, well, it’s summer! Time to holiday, loosen up and to live a little more carefree than the blustery cold months. This is achieved by combining elements of 60’s mod minimalism with fabrications and relaxed cuts better suited for today (and tomorrow). Check the store and the Spring/Summer 2013 look book after the jump.
