Tommy Hilfiger Men's Spring 2013: Where the Striped Things Are
If you love stripes, then feast your eyes on the Tommy Hilfiger Men’s Spring 2013 collection. And actually, if avant-punk-prep is your thing, then Hilfiger will 100% be in your wardrobe come next season with an impressive (and, yes, we’ll say it, awesome) collection of fashion forward menswear based in classic Americana with just the right amount of irreverent Brit sensibility—no doubt an influence from new creative director, Simon Spurr. It’s a gorgeous, punchy and inspired combination. The brand’s hallmark colors—spirited blues, crisp whites and athletic reds—are seen in nautical rope print stripes, regatta jackets and are realized in almost every which way on pants, jackets, turtlenecks, shoes, ties, sweaters. There’s also some mixing and matching in the fabrications, especially in the outerwear. Canvas meets leather in the moto-trench and there’s a suede bomber jacket. Even more twists include a quintessential collegiate blazer done in jersey and the knit tie incorporated onto the front placket of shirts. A collection we cannot wait to get our hands on.
