Florsheim Nails Holiday Party Footwear

For its newest holiday range, American heritage shoemaker Florsheim looked to its history. Inspired by the brand’s neon signs from its stores in the ’30s, the Fuel Reflect Capsule Collection captures the spirit of the season with several glossy shoe styles. In addition to the retro-futuristic holographic styles, there are also three glossy brogue styles available in red, green, and blue. The festive update to the traditional men’s formal footwear renders the new range ideal for any and all upcoming holiday festivities.

“We are truly excited to launch our Fuel Reflect collection this holiday season as it is a unique and unexpected collection from Florsheim,” John Florsheim, president of the brand, said in a statement. “With this new capsule, we stepped outside of an everyday color pallet, and the materials we used were combined with our latest silhouette that utilizes the modern EVA sole for comfort and look.”

The Florsheim Fuel Reflect Capsule Collection is available now.

Rae Sremmurd Releases Sneaker with Giuseppe Zanotti

This week in sneakers: Italian footwear designer Giuseppe Zanotti has cast hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd in a campaign for its newest limited-edition sneaker. The Blabber sneaker range boasts a minimal but luxurious design — monochromatic styles are available in textured snakeskin leather, black canvas, or a subtle tartan print, with an exposed zipper detail embellishing the shoe’s spine. The utilitarian design is a contrast to the dynamic energy of the chart-topping group, but that’s the point — the simplicity only amplifies the wearer’s own charisma.

The Blabber FW19 collection is available in select stores and online now. Check out the video campaign below.

Adidas x Raf Simons Reveal Reflective Sneakers

The latest output from the ongoing Raf Simons x Adidas sneaker collab is a futuristic take on the Glam Rock theme from Simons’ recent SS19 collection. The RS OZWEEGO is updated with reflective soles that evoke Y2K trend of the early aughts, while the brighter primary colorways in smooth leather echo the main inspiration from the collection. It might be a more subtle interpretation of the flashy rock genre made famous by David Bowie and Elton John, but the sneakers are still cool in a cyber-wave kinda way.

The RS OZWEEGO will be available in select stores and online starting May 23.

Lil Wayne Helps Launch Ugg x Bape Footwear

Two beloved jewels that emerged as trend pioneers in the early ’00s have teamed up on a limited-edition range of cozy summer footwear. Australian footwear brand Ugg and Japenese streetwear label Bape have unveiled two new shoe models that perfectly marry their signature styles: the Sneaker is a chunky shoe that is lined with Ugg’s distinct yet breathable sherpa and embellished with a shooting star detail on the exterior, while the Xavier Fur Logo Slide is peak branded luxury comfort, with each shoe spelling out ‘BAPE.’ Lil Wayne models the styles in an international campaign was shot by Neil Favila. It’s safe to say that the ’90s revival is ending and clearing the way for more retro-aughts trends to emerge.

The UGG x BAPE collection launches on April 27 at select Bape stores. Check out some of the looks below.

reebokpyermoss1

The DMX Fusion Experiment Sneaker by Pyer Moss is set to release this Friday: this time, in black.  The upcoming sneaker marks the second release of the fashion brand’s version of Reebok’s signature model in white which first debuted earlier this year and sold out within minutes.

The shoe ultimately pushes the shoe’s traditional design aesthetic, getting inspiration from airdrop containers and the straps used to tie them down. Keeping personal style in mind, the sneaker offers different laces that allow the shoe to be personalized by the wearer.

The sneaker will be available for $180 starting Friday on Pyermoss.com and Reebok.com.

Giuseppe Zanotti Teams Up with Korean Pop Star G-Dragon

IU-5128-MULTICOLOR-GLITTER--(2)

Punk rock ‘n’ roll meets high-end cool in Giuseppe Zanotti’s newest collaboration with the Korean pop star G-Dragon, from the South Korean group Big Bang. A proven fashion icon, the musician—one of the most influential people in the Asian music industry—is known for constantly reinventing his image. The new collaboration embodies both Giuseppe Zanotti and G-Dragon’s mantras of creating fashion rules rather than simply following them.

IU5129--BLACK-GLITTER--(1)

Fusing their artistic ideas, the duo were able to flawlessly create two unique styles in colorful and just-black colorways. G-Dragon’s distinctive edginess and vibrant energy was infused with Giuseppe Zanotti’s underlining elegance to craft a timeless and classic design in both an oxford and a loafer silhouette.

“We came up with a star product, which is glamorous and versatile at the same time because it is suitable to wear with a number of different outfits,” says Giuseppe Zanotti himself. “The styles are unisex and made of tiny hand-applied fragments of glitter mounted on a rubber sole which remind me of some of the rock bands of the ’80s. What is really special behind this concept is the lightness that perfectly balances all the elements without losing their formidable elegance.”

The two styles will be available in October online and in Giuseppe Zanotti Design boutiques worldwide.

Joining it, the Vintage TopStar Low takes a more casual approach, utilizing an all-black calf hair upper with a classic white leather chevron. The balance between McNairy’s ease and ferocity is evident in the distinct differences between both TopStar designs—one is audacious, and the other prudent—but both are absolutely New York classics.
