Drake’s Brand OVO Opens Store in Tokyo

October’s Very Own, aka OVO or simply Drake’s clothing/lifestyle brand, has already planted outposts in New York, London, Los Angeles, and the rapper’s native Toronto. The streetwear brand is further expanding its international presence by opening its first store in Asia, in Tokyo, later this month.

 

Located in Aoyama, the new store was designed by Masamichi Katayama, a renowned Japanese interior design firm. The two-story shop’s design is minimal and airy, with light wood floors, floating staircases, and cement wall accents working harmoniously to create an inviting vibe. The Japanese store will carry exclusive pieces, including an upcoming collection with Porter and rare pieces designed in partnership with artist Takashi Murakami.

 

OVO Tokyo will open on October 19 at 107-0061 3-7-11 Kitaaoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

Dsquared2 Releases Exclusive Capsule with Drake

Dsquared2 has always had exceptional taste when it comes to working with celebrities — a 19-year old Rihanna opened the show back in 2007 at the height of her ‘Umbrella‘ fame. So its latest partnership with OVO — aka October’s Very Own aka Drake‘s streetwear brand — seems just right. In fact, it’s kinda surprising this didn’t happen sooner.

 

Dsquared2 x OVO is heavy on branding — a mashup of the OVO owl logo is pasted on top of Dsquared2’s own is incorporated into most of the collection, which consists of sweats, denim, t-shirts, and a few hats. The capsule is essentially a bunch of elevated staples that don’t deliver anything particularly groundbreaking, but there lies its strength: the subtle design means that the pieces won’t be easily dated and the logo collage will surely evolve into a highly coveted staple. Plus there’s definitely the potential to serve as a gateway: OVO fans get a chance to wear Dsquared2, and vice versa.

Canada Goose X Drake’s October’s Very Own

Two of Toronto’s coolest brands are teaming up again for a limited edition capsule collection. Outerwear giant Canada Goose just released their second collaboration today with Drake’s clothing line, October’s Very Own (OVO). Drake teased the new line on Instagram over a week ago with an image of a rack of pink satin bomber jackets and a cryptic red rose emoji.

The latest collab expands on the first with more accessories and colors to keep you looking fresh all winter. Canada Goose’s staple Chilliwack Bomber Jacket returns in ‘pink dawn’ and ‘steel grey’ satin with gold zippers. In keeping with Canada Goose’s heritage, the collection also features a Shearling Pilot Hat that also comes in ‘pink dawn’ and ‘steel grey.’ The beanie and scarf are %100 merino wool made in Italy and feature OVO’s name and owl logo, both of which are available in sterling heather and black colorways. OVO Launches London Flagship

Canadian rapper and internet darling Drake’s cult streetwear label OVO (October’s Very Own) opens its first store in London today. The new 1,600-square-foot store in Soho, designed with Brinkworth and Wilson Brothers, marks the brand’s third outpost, following locations in Toronto, Los Angeles and New York. In addition to the main line, the new intimate and understatedly lavish location will offer exclusive merchandise and capsule collections. If you’re in London, be sure to check it out today before the line wraps around the block. Drake’s October’s Very Own x Canada Goose IV

Moments after breaking the internet yet again with his “Hotling Bling” video, rapper and cultural conductor Drake announces the fourth collaboration between his clothing/lifestyle brand, October’s Very Own, and Canada Goose. The partnership continues to bring exclusive style straight out of Toronto, with Canada Goose’s expertise in cold weather gear and OVO’s distinctive streetwear aesthetic. Designed to make a statement through the winter month, the new set returns to an all-black satin with tasteful gold accents, including a Men’s OVO Foxe bomber jacket with a removable shearling collar, as well as an OVO ball cap that features Canada Goose Logo and the iconic OVO owl. Only 300 units were made of each piece, making this collaboration a keepsake.
