Fendi Draws Upon Karl Lagerfeld’s Archives for FW19

In Fendi‘s latest guest star collaboration, Karl Lagerfeld sketches designs from his own personal style and experience at other brands he has worked on including Comme de Garçons and Dior. He juxtaposes plastic trenches and metallic outerwear with asymmetric soft beige color blocking. The collection is wrapped up with collage print suitcases and briefcases designed by Japanese technical luggage specialist Porter-Yoshida & Co.

Roundup of Milan’s Hottest Bags for FW18

Before we jet off to Paris, Milan’s bags for Fall/Winter 2018 season are worth taking a look back at. With Dolce & Gabbana flying in their bags on drones, bags were swinging all around including a conveyor belt presentation. This season, Italian designers offered us a completely new look at the “man-bag.” No longer are we carrying around clutches, instead giving way to chunky traveler-bags for everyday use. These are worn standard carrying by the handle, or clutching underhand, as seen by Bally. The leather bag isn’t going anywhere yet either, but there are newer options available from Versace made in velvet and decorated with tassels, oh my! Backpacks are still very much trending with Etro and Tod’s with a sturdy structure. Meanwhile Fendi took the travel theme quite literally to real-size suitcases and some smaller, suitcase-resembling pieces as well. Looking forward, this trend is anticipated to be reinforced in Paris as well.

Diving into the surfer’s subculture, Palm Angels displayed pure angst on its Milan Fashion Week runway. Choosing to descend into the tumultuous underbelly of California youth, the brand’s Spring/Summer 2018 line utilized sun-fades, “RAGE” graphics, and rhythmic patterns to break summer’s cheery disposition.

From Our View – Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2018

An exclusive front row invitation.

With so many runways on the roster, June’s fashion schedule can be just a tad bit daunting. That is why we put together this invite-only rundown of the very best from Milan Fashion Week. Let EH be your eyes so you can focus on those exclusive after-hours parties instead.

Fendi

Giving a quirky touch to old-fashioned suits and ties, Fendi’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection redefined corporate wardrobes with oversized outerwear, soft pastel colors, and signature double-F logo prints.

No. 21

For No. 21, a playful contrast of soft and bold tones dominated its latest runway collection, drawing inspiration from freedom and escapism for its casual wardrobe staples.

Damir Doma

Layered outfits, oversized bomber jackets, and monochromatic striped pants were all part of Damir Doma’s new line. The brand opted for a colorful streetwear series infused with character and attitude.

Salvatore Ferragamo

Capturing the elegance of the sun-kissed Italian Riviera, Salvatore Ferragamo showcased an exquisite Spring/Summer 2018 collection in Milan with a riveting mix of minimal, laid-back pieces and elegant leather jackets.

Emporio Armani

Japan—that was the inspiration behind Emporio Armani’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection. Besides highlighting a series of quilted Kimono suits and sophisticated headbands of red, gold, and black, the runway show also saw a cameo by singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes, who stars in the brand’s watch campaign.
