Oliver Peoples has been giving us stunning, sophisticated and stylish glasses for 25 years and this October they’re doing something big to celebrate, in the form of a limited edition. Check out the coming collection after the link. They’re based on a sketch of some glasses that Founder and Creative Director Larry Leight recently found while rummaging around (side note – going through old stuff is a great way to find inspiration when you’re feeling stuck). The drawing was from 1989, just 2 years after he began the company—”I remember when I drew these,” says Leight. “I always loved them, but they just weren’t right for our collection at that time. We had something going with our aesthetic -it was a new and different intellectual category of eyewear, and people were really drawn to it. These frames just felt a little more modern then what we were doing back then. In celebration of the 25 year anniversary I wanted to dig back into our heritage.” When they drop this October you’ll find strong plastic frame fronts fused with intricately filigreed metal details,a hinge that features a custom scroll engraved design and a temple adorned with an arrow plaque—used here for the first time on an Oliver Peoples frame. There’ll be RX and Sunglasses (which will be  available with VFX Polarized, Photochromic or Mineral Glass lenses) and they’ll come in a custom case, embossed with the original Oliver Peoples plaque inspired by those used in the first 1987 collection.
