John Varvatos Opens Doors in Moscow

John Varvatos reveals a new location in Moscow, the designer brand’s first store in Russia, and his 25th internationally. The new spot is a mix of Russian opulence and the American rock ’n’ roll attitude that John Varvatos is known for: grand iron tables displaying neatly folded jeans and floral arrangements paired next to zebra-print couches as walls are lined with photos of rockstars from the ’70s and ’80s.

The décor is not the only thing catered to a Russian audience; the store’s products are meant to focus on the American menswear label’s more formal and elegant options. The Moscow location offers a selection from the vast John Varvatos brand, including its Spring/Summer 2016 sportswear collection, choice footwear and accessories, as well as music-related books and photographs for sale.

The store joins other luxury brands like Missoni and Prada at the Crocus City Mall, Moscow’s luxury shopping center whose Executive Vice President Emin Agalarov is a personal supporter of John Varvatos. “John is a great and unique man [and] has a passion for fashion and music like I do,” he said in a statement. “I am sure that the brand has already found many fans in Russia and will have a lot in the future as we continue to grow.” Its opening last Friday, May 20, was celebrated with an appropriately rocking event that featured a performance by legendary band Bi-2, and was attended by numerous Russian stars, including actor Pavel Tabakov, singers Ani Lorak and Anna Sedokova, and the multi-talented entertainer Inna Malikova.
