The Complicated Beauty of ETRO’s Hand Painted Tailoring

For Italian luxury fashion house ETRO‘s Autumn/Winter 2015 collection, Men’s Creative Director Kean Etro reminisced a bit to the past, reviving a technical concept that the brand was once know for: hand painted tailoring. Employing a colony of artists in Como, Italy, the dream effect places tone-on-tone layers and paisley designs over luxe velvet jackets, T-shirts, and ties. In this process, the pieces become transformed by the strong, gentle stroke of each brush. Watch the video above to see for yourself.
