Faith Connexion Enters a New Age

Faith Connexion, a once-anonymous “tribe” of designers and creatives, is rethinking its structure. Long an anarchic collective without formal leadership, the group that seamlessly melds punk rock with urban wear with everything in-between is looking to Nikola Vasari for more guidance. Vasari, a Parisian, is known for his work at Saint Laurent and Balmain, and for his adoration of embroideries and stones. This change doesn’t mean Faith Connexion is losing its ethos—far from it. Under the streamlined politics of Vasari, the group will be able to push further than ever into the idiosyncratic. With an ever-broadening roster of collaborators from broad walks of life—including hip-hop legend Swizz Beatz–Faith Connexion is growing, not changing.

Bob Carlos Clarke—Rare Works, New Show and Something Interesting to Buy

His images are forever saturated with emotion—rebellious, mysterious and playful—and continue to be visually alluring. Photographer Bob Carlos Clarke, known for his erotic images of women, was one of London’s must underrated artistic talents while he lived. More than 6 years after his untimely death (he committed suicide a the age of 55 by jumping in front of a train), his art has proven to be enduring and perhaps more respected than ever—you can visit his permanent collection at London’s burgeoning The Little Black Gallery (which is also home to the Bob Carlos Clarke Foundation). New this month, the Little Black Gallery has opened an offshoot gallery inside a pub called The Imperial Arms, where a new collection of his most rare work will also be on display. You can also purchase striking limited edition T-shirts created by fair trade clothing company Collective featuring photographs on display at The Imperial Arms from Harvey Nichols, Cruise, Flannels, blackwhitedenim.com and wearecollective.com.
