Shoe Gooders Open New Store, Clean a Beach

Don’t you love it when good news begets more good news? Sperry Top-Sider opened their first Manhattan retail location last Thursday with a party featuring contemporary pop artist Rodney White who was on hand to customize shoes to shoppers delight. Meanwhile, Sperry teamed up with eco-entrepreneurs United By Blue to translate each opening night purchase into a pound of trash being cleaned up from Bottle Beach in Brooklyn (to happen on April 14th). Store openings, artistic customization and philanthropy—sometimes this is all the world needs.
