Welcoming Fashion Week and "Style + Substance" with John Varvatos
Kicking off fashion week for the guys last night was a packed John Varvatos party, giving us a moment to raise a (huge) glass of beer to the coming week but also to celebrate the relaunch of his newly designed website johnvarvatos.com. The event (held at Manhattan’s newest beer spot—Houston Hall), and the new section, are both called “Style and Substance,” featuring guys who’re at the top of their game in both, well, substance and style. Guys like Mashable CEO, Pete Cashmore, restauranteur Michael Chernow (Meatballshop), comedian Anthony Jeselnik, Boardwalk Empire’s Vincent Piazza, athlete Nick Swisher and chef Michael Voltaggio. ?uestlove from The Roots provided the eclectic soundtrack of smooth beats and 80’s jams while everyone (from Bob Gruen to Wu-Tang’s Raekwon) downed the beers, prosecco and schmaltzy talk of the all day snow and of course, the coming shows.
