Never one to take a backseat—whether it’s directing a film that he also adapted or designing an eyewear line grounded in his own image—Tom Ford once again goes full throttle for Spring/Summer 2017. Shooting the latest campaign himself, the images highlight his eponymous brand’s new range of mens and womenswear, crafting a deeply filmic aesthetic that thrives on its simmering drama. The prints mark the end of a quick era for the designer, who announced that come Spring/Summer 2018, he will be doing away with the controversial see-now-buy-now release schedule embraced by many in the recent years. Shoppers be warned.

Tom Ford
Though the designer/director missed out on gold, Tom Ford‘s supporting man, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, took home Best Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama for Nocturnal Animals at this year’s Golden Globe awards. Decked out in a look by the designer himself, the film marks the second project by Ford to hit the big screen and his first time being recognized by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for his work.
Christian Williams
Model Christian Williams captured the riotous energy that Sibling London brought to the London Fashion Week Men’s runway, the brand debuting a knitwear (what else?) line of deep navy and burning maroon. The collection itself is a fervent attempt to reclaim the union jack and reinvent a coveted English punk vibe through loud and unexpected detailing.
Ed Skrein
Unconcerned with his film Deadpool’s Golden Globes engagement in America, actor Ed Skrein returned to his homeland for London Collections Men’s and Belstaff‘s impressive Autumn/Winter 2017 showing. The brand, inspired by the British Navy for a dual offering of both men’s and women’s lines, debuted a ’60s-inspired collection with minor embellishments for a classic feel in execution and scope.
Kris Van Assche
Dior Creative Director Kris Van Assche saturated his Instagram feed with the French brand’s high-brow Summer 2017 campaign prints. Starring the likes of Rami Malek, Boy George, and A$AP Rocky, a recent favorite of the designer, the images were shot by photographer Willy Vanderperre and usher in a darker, austere vibe for the fashion house.
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
Don’t miss the latest look at ESSENTIAL HOMME October/November 2016 cover star Luke Evans’s villainous turn in the upcoming “Beauty and the Beast” from Disney. The previous trailer shattering viewing records, this sneak peek, debuting during the 2017 Golden Globes Award telecast, features a first listen of the film’s lead, Emma Watson, singing and the pitchfork wielding villagers that Evans leads with his staple collected control.

Luke Evans
ESSENTIAL HOMME October/November 2016 cover star Luke Evans shared a first look at his character, the self-obsessed Gaston, from Disney‘s upcoming “Beauty and the Beast” live action film. Not as conceited as the character he portrays, Evans was quick to shout out his trusty sidekick Le Fou as well, played by Josh Gad.
Tom Ford
Fashion icon turned in-demand Hollywood director, Tom Ford was honored this week at the 2016 Wall Street Journal Innovator Awards, following in Angelina Jolie’s footsteps to receive the coveted Film Innovator Award. His latest motion picture endeavor, “Nocturnal Animals,” is gearing up for a cutthroat Oscar race when it premieres in theaters December 9, 2016.
Opening Ceremony
The Weeknd has certainly had a very busy week – from a new Puma collaboration to announcing a massive North American Starboy tour, it’s no surprise that Opening Ceremony, the cool kid’s fashion safe haven, announced that all Starboy tour merch is now available for the masses in-store and online.
will.i.am urged fans to get #buttonedup with the recently released i.am+ BUTTONS bluetooth headphones. Guest starring fashion heavy-hitters like Kendall Jenner, Shaun Ross, and India Love, the metallic-dream video announces a candy-coated followup to the brand’s previous Farfetch collab.
Tommy Hilfiger
After launching the nostalgic Tommy Jeans 2.0 campaign last month, American fashion staple Tommy Hilfiger announced his new book, “American Dreamer: My Life in Fashion and Business,” at a soiree of elbow-rubbing esteem. Cheesing with the one and only Naomi Campbell was only the start of the fun.
A psychedelic-chic reinterpretation of a time when the word perm wasn’t so taboo, Tom Ford‘s Autumn/Winter 2016 campaign is a lush look of ’70s flair, shot by the consistent fashion eyes of Inez + Vinoodh.
One of the buzziest films to show at TIFF this year, Nocturnal Animals is the bleak, sensually gritty drama you’ve been waiting for. Written and directed by sartorial savant Tom Ford, Nocturnal Animals, his first film since the critical darling A Single Man in 2009, follows the tumultuous world of an art gallery owner, Amy Adams, and her ex-husband, Jake Gyllenhaal, as he releases a violent thriller novel dedicated in her vengeful honor. Part art-house think piece, part gut-wrenching psycho-drama, the film is a daring choice for Ford, whose previous work he dubbed one of his most personal creative efforts – one that earned him a place in the halls of Tinseltown’s most visually enticing and aesthetically engrossing directors.
Starring alongside Adams and Gyllenhaal are a slew of glittering Hollywood names, including ESSENTIAL HOMME August/September 2015 cover star Michael Shannon as Detective Bobby Andes – an officer with thinly veiled motives, as well as film favorites Isla Fisher, Laura Linney, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival and based on the divisive novel “Tony and Susan” by Austin Wright, Nocturnal Animals is a Hitchcockian, psycho-sexual foray into a razor-sharp world filled to the brim with skeptical mistrust, serrated unease, and, in true Tom Ford fashion, wonderfully decadent wardrobing.
Nocturnal Animals is scheduled to release in theaters November 18, 2016.
Tom Ford announces the launch of his Private Eyewear Collection, a special edition line of sunglasses and optical frames designed for the eyewear aficionado. In tribute to the designer’s namesake brand’s 11 years of eyewear, he has crafted 11 frames made of premium materials, including selected natural horn, Japanese titanium to be ultra-lightweight, and photochromic lenses that darken and lighten automatically depending on light condition. The series features five sunglass designs and six optical frames in classical styles that include the TOM N.8, a rounded aviator with a thick bridge offered in shiny black horn with light brown lenses and the TOM N.3, a double-bar wayfarer seen in striped dark brown horn with blue lenses. Prior to the release, Ford wore these styles as personal glasses—and in some cases, even originally designed them for himself—before releasing them as a set now.
Tom Ford’s Private Eyewear Collection is available online now.

TOM FORD suits Agent 007—played by Daniel Craig—in the brand new installment of the James Bond film series “Spectre.” This is the third time the NYC-based fashion brand dresses the fictional British secret service agent, providing made-to-measure tailored clothing as well as casual wear including eveningwear, suits, shirts, knitwear, ties, and accessories, alongside exclusive eyewear for the Bond character. “I could not be happier to be dressing Craig as James Bond again in ‘SPECTRE,'” says the designer himself. “James Bond epitomizes the TOM FORD man in his elegance, style, and love of luxury. It is an honor to move forward with this iconic character.” Ford came on board for “Quantum of Solace,” replacing Italian brand Brioni, which had designed all of the suits worn by Craig’s predecessor, Pierce Brosnan.
After opening stores in New York, Las Vegas, Beverly Hills, Chicago, and Dallas, TOM FORD has chosen Miami for the location of its newest flagship store. Located in the Design District, the building is notable for its pleated surface of geometric, glass-fiber-reinforced-concrete panels and angular, recessed storefronts.

Evoking a sense of stylish personal residence, the first floor features a palette of light grays, polished chrome accents, and touches of black granite and ebony, creating an atmosphere of feminine elegance. A black mirrored elevator takes visitors to the second floor, where the color scheme shifts into darker, more masculine hues—black, brown, and gray—creating a space exuding sophisticated masculinity. Men’s fragrance, eyewear, shoes, sportswear, and the suiting salon are displayed in a white-marble-and-chrome environment, which features Macassar ebony walls and antique bronze mirrors.
TOM FORD’s new flagship is located at 103 NE 39th Street Miami, Florida 33137, and is open now.
