Nick Wooster has Designed a Collection with Paul & Shark

At this point, Nick Wooster is a New York institution. The fashion consultant earned his stripes at major retailers including Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, and Neiman Marcus before becoming a style icon in his own right and amassing almost a million Instagram followers. His sophisticated dapper-meets-street look (like Thom Browne listening to a Kanye West album) and exemplary grooming — he famously gets his hair cut every two weeks — is like catnip to street style photographers. Now he’s lending his distinguished taste to Paul & Shark on an extensive collection.

The second collaboration between the two made its debut at Pitti Uomo in Florence and perfectly fuses Wooster’s sartorial sensibility with the Italian label’s nautical flare. It’s not afraid of color — a hot pink sweater replete with boatneck button detail is an immediate standout — or prints and balances a black and white palette with contrasting patterns. Checkered prints stand out on a pair of cropped trousers and as a line detail on a brown peacoat. Sweatshirts are remixed with split-sided graphic prints, and a number of jackets are enhanced with glossy reflective hoods.

“I am honored to continue my collaboration with PAUL & SHARK. Partnering with brands that have a strong history and iconography are the most interesting and challenging,” Wooster said in a statement. “This collection reflects my view of a seasonal wardrobe using the highlights of PAUL & SHARK’s past and our first collaboration as a starting point.”

John Elliott x Caterpillar Launch Iridescent Workwear

Workwear continues to dominate as one of the biggest trends of the moment, with construction uniform staples like carpenter pants and utility vests making their way through numerous collections and street style shots alike. For a new collaboration, Los Angeled-based label John Elliott took a conceptual route in its collaboration with construction equipment manufacturer Caterpillar, delivering an elevated take on workwear pieces inspired by the construction of a coastal dream home.

Elliott went deep into Caterpillar’s extensive workwear archives to create a visually striking and highly functional collection. The designer incorporated Caterpillar’s 3M logo with reflective material to contrast the utilitarian structures of the pieces, including trousers, shorts, windbreakers, and sweatshirts, which were themselves constructed with premium materials like shiny Italian nylon. The pieces are grounded with a neutral color palette (the result of a new double-dye process) that prevents them from being too flashy and instead remain committed to practical design.

The John Elliott x Caterpillar launches online and in select stores tomorrow.

Supreme x Lacoste Release Fall 2019 Collab

The latest drop from the ongoing fall collaboration between Supreme and Lacoste arrives this week. Taking cues from Lacoste’s preppy country-club aesthetic and injecting them with Supreme’s New York skater grit, the newest collection is a sophisticated effort that’s heavy on branding. Some of the highlights from the latest drop include a series of Harrington jackets with sherpa collars, replete with a branded graphic on the back that features both brand names encircling Lacoste’s distinct crocodile logo. Other standouts include a bold pinstripe cardigan and some simple printed hoodies. Supreme’s recent collection inspired by The Velvet Underground launched last week and earlier this year Lacoste released a collaboration with Tyler the Creator’s brand Golf le Fleur.

The Supreme x Lacoste Fall 2019 collection will be available online on September 26.

After 25 Years, Supreme has Left Lafayette Street

Long a staple of Lafayette Street since it opened up 25 years ago, Supreme has quietly left its original flagship location. The New York skate brand announced in February that it would temporarily relocate to a spot on Bowery while its original flagship was renovated, but fans of the brand posted pictures on social media showing that its former location in SoHo is currently available for lease — unconfirmed reports claim that the Lafayette monthly rent is $70 thousand a month. Supreme later confirmed that the Bowery location will now serve as the main flagship. There goes the neighborhood.

Supreme is open now at 190 Bowery.

Chinatown Market Launches Exclusive Capsule with ASOS

Chinatown Market, the viral LA-based streetwear brand, has released an exclusive capsule collection on ASOS. The 35-piece collection features new limited-edition prints and the label’s first womenswear items. Some of the highlights include all-over print hoodies and matching pant sets, a mixed animal print baseball cap and basketball, a smiley face umbrella, and vintage-inspired graphic tees in the brand’s signature friendly retro style. For a brand that only started in 2016 and quickly blew up due to its highly engaging social media presence, partnering with one of the world’s biggest e-tailers is definitely something to smile about.

The Chinatown Market x ASOS collection launches online later this week.

Off-White x Undercover Capsule To Launch This Weekend

A marriage of contemporary fashion masterminds, Off-White has announced the release of an upcoming collaboration with Japanese streetwear brand Undercover. A collection of men’s staples — including but not limited to t-shirts, hoodies, shorts, denim pieces — has melded Off-White’s distinct iconography with the graphic XX of Undercover.

Highlights include a series of graphic t-shirts featuring skeleton illustrations — the designers have named this motif “dark matter.” In addition to various skeletal imagery, the collaboration is stamped with a working name, UNDEROFFWHITECOVERS, as an unofficial marking of the fusion of brand designers Virgil Abloh and Jun Takahashi. For those into a more subtle statement, a range of black fanny packs are branded with both designer names for a quiet yet fairly obvious flex.

The Off-White x Undercover collection will be available in select Off-White and Undercover stores worldwide and online on September 14.

KITH Partners with Onitsuka Tiger on Classic GSM Sneaker

The Japanese footwear brand Onitsuka Tiger, immortalized by a sword-wielding sweatsuit wearing Uma Thurman in Kill Bill in case you forgot, has partnered with New York-based streetwear label KITH on a release of its classic GSM sneaker. Inspired by classic tennis shoes, the signature style has been resurrected in two new colorways — green and red — and repurposed for everyday wearability with a smooth leather exterior enhanced by suede underlinings. If you want an unofficial souvenir from the latest US Open, the shoe is available exclusively at Kith’s flagship store in SoHo — which funnily enough is merely 3 blocks away from Onitsuka Tiger’s own flagship — and online.

Supreme Reveals Fall/Winter ’19 Collection Inspired by Morrissey

And they’re back: Earlier today, Supreme posted on Instagram tease its upcoming Fall/Winter 2019 collection. The picture (featured below) shows a light acid-washed jacket with The Smith’s Meat is Murder album cover on the back, which was inspired by the 1968 documentary In the Year of the Pig — an image of a soldier in the film introduced the now-common phrase “Make Love Not War” which has been adapted that into ‘Supreme is Love.’ No release date has been given yet.

Morrissey, the band’s controversial frontman and possibly indie’s greatest anti-hero, has previously worked with Supreme — in 2016, Supreme featured an image of the British artist on a t-shirt. He was not pleased, later claiming, “I considered the photograph to be fit only for a medical encyclopedia and I pleaded with Supreme not to use it.” Perhaps this new collection shows that all is forgiven? Regardless, we’re sure Morrissey is sure to have some words about it.

Comme des Garçons Suprise Drops Air Jordan 1 Sneaker

During its Fall/Winter 2019 show, Comme des Garçons debuted a new edgy shoe collaboration with Air Jordan 1. While the Japanese brand has previously done sneaker collabs with Converse, Vans, and Nike, this is the first time it’s worked with Jordan. The monochromatic sneakers featured a studded leather strap replete silver hoops and other embellishments that added a dose of gothic S&M spice to the classic shoe style. An instant standout from the presentation, fans were left in the dark as to when the shoes would be available in the US. Over the weekend, these prayers were answered as Hypebeast reports the shoes were quietly released in Dover Street Market New York and the designer’s flagship store. A wide release is expected to follow shortly.
