Love Above All Ball Tickets are Available Now

This year’s Pride festivities will include a philanthropic black-tie event to benefit the cause and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. Hosted at Rainbow Room, the Love Above All Ball (with support from OUT@NBCUniversal) on June 28th is the only ticketed black-tie event scheduled for the season and will benefit the Born This Way Foundation, which is a non-profit founded by Lady Gaga and co-run by her mother Cynthia Germanotta that provides young people with mental health resources.

“Born This Way Foundation was founded with the goal of empowering young people from all walks of life to create a kinder and braver world. Today’s youth are a passionate, collaborative, and diverse generation,” said Cynthia Germanotta, president and co-founder of the Born This Way Foundation, in a statement. “We are proud to be partnering with Rainbow Room for its first-ever Pride event celebrating love, creativity, and community.”

The gala will feature a cabaret performance by RuPaul’s Drag Race alum (and co-star of last year’s A Star is Born) Shangela and will feature live performances by Marina (formerly of Marina and the Diamonds fame) and Betty Who. Additionally, veteran DJs Casey Spooner, Nicky Siano, and Miss Guy will provide the soundtrack for the evening. Sounds like a good night!

Private Policy Spring Summer 2020 collection

Private Policy SS ’20 is a Tribute to Stonewall

The New York-based Private Policy hosted their Spring/Summer 2020 show in the city as a nod to the chief inspiration of the collection, the Stonewall Riots in 1969. The Parsons duo has been depicting elements of metropolitan ambition in their collection since conception, but this collection showed how they’ve matured to a new level.

The new collection is a compilation of essential pieces for self-liberation a unity of difference including 3D-print inspired jackets, athletic styles, and detachable feathered harnesses. The styles are featured in a rainbow variation, but also soft pastel pink and mint options for everyday wear. “We don’t need to act like soldiers (or dress like them) to protest and stand up for our rights,” the brand stated in a release. Their collection captures the living spirit of the brave peers fighting for their own identities in 1969 resonating on until today.

The collection also features the new PIXEL capsule, some of which is already available online.  Read our interview with the designers here and see some key looks from the collection below.

Exclusive: John Varvatos Releases First Pride Capsule

Honoring the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots — when Black transwomen and drag queens famously fought back against police brutality and brought gay rights to the forefront of the American consciousness — John Varvatos is releasing a limited-edition 3-piece t-shirt collection that benefits amfAR, a non-profit that supports AIDS research. Each of the shirts features a rainbow emblem representing peace, equality, and inclusivity — themes that are integral to the brand as well as pride season as a whole. Additionally, throughout the month JV stores in New York City will display parts of the AIDS memorial quilt to further honor those we’ve lost in the fight for queer liberation.

The John Varvatos Pride capsule is available in select stores and online now.
