Versace Men’s SS’14 Collection

It came as no surprise when Donatella’s Versace creation for summer/spring 2014 was based on the athletic mood, from boxing to casually swimming. One of the many features on the runway were the models in fluorescent shades that covered every limb besides their torso. The element and use of the patch patterns were displayed continuously on T-shirts, shorts, jackets, and pants.

There had also been a series of silk shorts and suits with zip pockets that portrayed rather a sense of punk than classic. We’ve always adored Versace’s icon of the mythological temptress Medusa, and she is now bigger and greener as the fluorescent image appeared on each model’s boxing gown. Ermenegildo Zegna SS’14 Collection

Introducing Stefano Pilati’s debut for the Emernegildo Zegna summer/spring 2014 season, the show produced a series of long and lean suits, and we saw a new world of leisure filled with safari jackets and exotic themes like slanted pea-coat pockets on suit jackets. Combinations of color proved beyond glorious with tones of earthy shades, powder blue and even Bordeaux. The models performed at a fast paced speed as they displayed blousons and shorts, even beach blankets making everyone reminiscent of the old Italian age.

Pilati has now shown who he is and what he does, portraying a numerous amount of themes within his signature, from oversized coats to extremely tight pants and sleeves. And who could not love that.

We are now witnessing the breath of fresh air from the east; Corneliani’s 2014 summer/spring catwalk. The collection can suit the most relaxed of men, as they travel from the airport to the office with natural and perhaps ‘simple’ coloring which is never a negative.

Model by model, we see the softness of greys and white on jackets, coats, and even suits. The audience could not get anymore comfortable as they witness an evolution into the eyes of Corneliani.

From legal troubles to the recent fashion for summer 2014, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana create a sense of originality and heritage as the designers take Dolce’s Sicilian birthplace as their location of inspiration. An olive tree had been the backdrop, and branches took over from above the runway under a canopy of green leaves. Soon after, the male models approached wearing a bold print on one item of clothing, then we witness etchings of temples, coins, and even faces of Greek Gods.

Dolce and Gabbana also displayed an amount of fitted double breasted suits, and some were made of silk. We also saw striped suits, which may appear on the bodies of the designing duo anytime soon. The collection for summer 2014 could be one of the most anticipating range yet.
