Eton Releases Invisible Tie for Movember

Eton MovemberImage: Eton.

While we can all acknowledge the importance of Movember – a mission that starts a conversation on neglected men’s health issues – not every man (or woman) can grow a mustache to support the cause. With a fresh approach to raising awareness, Swedish shirt-makers Eton releases the Invisible Tie, enabling everyone to show support. As the name suggests, the Invisible Tie is, in fact, invisible, represented only through a stylish tie bar etched with the engraving, “I Wear the Invisible Tie.” The silver bar pairs well with any shirt or suit, is perfect for dressing up or down, and is striking enough to start a conversation among coworkers and friends. With the Movember Foundation headed to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25% in 2030, it’s a conversation we all want to have. All proceeds will be donated to charities (including the Movember Foundation) campaigning for men’s health issues, such as suicide and prostate and testicular cancer.

The Invisible Tie is available online at now.

7 For All Mankind Doesn’t Want You to Shave

7 For All Mankind x Movember
Friday is the first day of November, and while that might mean an end of Halloween party season for some, it’s also the start of an important campaign for many men around the world.

For the second year in a row, denim brand 7 For All Mankind is taking part in Movember, a global program that builds awareness and funds for men’s health issues (combatting prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges) by encouraging a shave-free, moustache-adorned month. This year, as official partners in the charity, 7 is kicking things up on a notch.

Available now, in 7 For All Mankind full-price retail stores and select specialty stores in the US and Canada, the brand will offer a special limited-edition Movember jean ($189) to encourage every man—even those that can’t quite grow a mustache themselves—to become walking ambassadors for the rugged look, al naturale. These specialty denim feature the charity’s logo printed on the waistband and pocket lining and a commemoratory moustache printed on the back pocket. On top of that, 7 will donate $20 for every pair of jeans purchased during November (regular and Movember-brand) to the cause.

Finally, with all the time saved without your morning shave, you can enter 7 For All Mankind’s “Get Mo” Instagram contest. Inspired by their November campaign video, 7 gives you the chance to post your best, covered faces for the chance to win a $1,500 7 For All Mankind gift card AND have $1,500 donated to Movember on their behalf. The contest runs from November 6th through November 30th – don’t forget to use the the hashtag #7FAMxMovember.

See you on the other, hairier side.

What to do for November—Grow a Moustache For Your Health

MovemberSo, in between Halloween and Thanksgiving, more or less, is Movember—a month where men are encouraged to grow mustaches to raise awareness for the oft neglected issues of men’s health (you know, all the fun stuff we deal with like Prostate Cancer). It’s a pretty loosely run thing, where you can raise money or just help spread the word about some cool charities like the Prostate Cancer Foundatin and the LiveSTRONG foundation. To give you an idea, last year 854,000 people helped raise $126.3 million for these causes simply by doing mustache-y things. Our friends at Gillette have set up a cool way to make Movember kinda fun—a facebook application that’ll create a time lapse video charting your progress through the month. So you start off clean shaven and get a record of what your face looks like as the hair grows in day by day. The best part though is that each photo uploaded will donate $1 to ZERO –The Project to End Prostate Cancer. Yup. Here’s your excuse to finally grow a ‘stache guys.
