WHAT

Gentlemen’s Rum Toddy
Replacing bourbon with FACUNDO EXIMO rum for a toffee-flavored take on a cold weather classic cocktail, this Hot Toddy blends spices with sweets for a seasonal surprise.

HOW

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. FACUNDO EXIMO
  • 1 oz. Thatchers Apple Spice Liqueur
  • 1 oz. hot water
  • 1 bar spoon St. Elizabeth Dram

THEN

Add all ingredients into kettle and keep at about 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Serve drink in a mug and garnish with cloves, lemon wheel, and nutmeg.

WHAT

Air Italy
From winter to spring—or perhaps just post-office happy hour to dinner out—this light Snow Leopard Vodka cocktail crafted by Nathan Rawlinson at NYC’s All’onda is the perfect transitionary drink to get things started.

HOW

Ingredients:

  • 1.25 oz. Snow Leopard Vodka
  • 0.75 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 0.75 oz. Aperitivo Cappelletti
  • 0.75 oz. Cardamaro

THEN

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a coupe glass.

WHAT

Chandon Passion Tea
In the bubbling spirit of the holiday of love, we’ve upped the dial on romance and stocked our liquor cabinets to follow suit. The first Valentine’s Day-ready cocktail of the season is the Chandon Passion Tea, an opulent, fruity, and rich drink that sparkles even more with Chandon Rosé.

HOW

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz. Chandon Rosé
  • 1/2 oz. Belvedere Pink Grapefruit Vodka
  • 1/2 peach
  • 1/3 oz. chilled jasmine tea
  • 1/3 oz. fresh lemon juice

THEN

In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, muddle the peach. Add ice, vodka, tea, and lemon juice then shake. Strain into a flute and top with Rosé.

Makers of one of France’s boldest beverage-enhancers, Cointreau reveals their new signature drink: a year round, refreshingly simple cocktail that highlights the French spirit’s citrus colored fun. A drink of choice for the brand’s ambassador program—a creative set that includes the likes of Kyle DeWoody, Athena Calderone, Kate Schelter, and more—the concoction and its maker continue to celebrate innovation and artistry one sip at a time.

HOW

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Cointreau
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 4 oz. club soda

THEN

Pour Cointreau and fresh lime juice into a glass and add ice. Top with club soda and stir. Garnish with a lime and orange zest.

Black Velvet Canadian Whisky’s Velvet​ Mudslide
Make happy hour just that much sweater with Black Velvet Canadian Whisky‘s Velvet Mudslide, a candied cocktail that combines Black Velvet’s Toasted Caramel Whisky with the creamy decadence of dessert.

HOW

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Black Velvet Toasted Caramel Whisky
  • ½ part dark chocolate liqueur
  • 1 part cream or half and half
  • Grated dark chocolate
  • 1 slice of salted caramel candy

THEN

Combine whisky, dark chocolate liqueur, and half and half and shake with ice for 20 seconds. Pour into an old-fashioned or a rocks glass. Garnish with grated dark chocolate and a slice of salted caramel candy on the rim.

In preparations to give the finger to 2014 welcome the new year, we’ve turned to the experts from the world of cocktails to find out what we should be drinking to properly toast the night away. A celebratory cocktail in itself—this drink was first introduced at the Standard, High Line a few years ago to celebrate Veuve Clicquot‘s 2010 polo classic—this bubbly beverage is the perfect morning cure to segue the party into citrusy lightness after a rowdy night of shots and ringing in 2015.

HOW

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Vodka
  • 0.5 oz. Campari
  • 0.5 oz. lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz. simple syrup
  • 0.5 oz. grapefruit juice
  • Splash of Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label

THEN

Stir all ingredients together in a cocktail glass or Champagne flute and garnish with orange peel.

Bar Marmont’s Billie Holiday
In preparations to give the finger to 2014 welcome the new year, we’ve turned to the experts from the world of cocktails to find out what we should be drinking to properly toast the night away. First up is mixologist Lauren Kincheloe from Bar Marmont in the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, whose Billie Holiday—a beautiful mix of stiff warmth and light bubbly—will certainly leave you with some happy last minute end of the year memories.

HOW

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Wild Turkey Rye
  • 3/4 oz. Grand Marnier
  • 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • Splash of fresh orange juice
  • Shaved nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 oz. Champagne

THEN

Combine Wild Turkey with orange juice, Grand Mariner, and lemon juice in a shaker. Mix and pour over the Champagne. Garnish the cocktail with an optional orange slice dipped in sugar and nutmeg.

WHAT

SNOB’s 30 Day Aged Rock & Rye
You’ve heard the words “good things take time,” but never has the phrase been so teasingly appropriate as SNOB’s 30 Day Aged Rock & Rye. Straight from the newly opened rooftop restaurant atop Hotel Americano in New York City, the classic rock and rye cocktail drink gets a holiday twist with essentials spices that—after almost a month of marinating with the drink’s other goodies—perfectly balance out the rye whiskey, citrus, sugar, and bitters.

HOW

Batched ingredients (to be placed a large mason jar for 30 days)

  • 1.25 liters of Rittenhouse Rye whiskey
  • 5 oz. of Luxardo Cherry Sangue Morlacco liqueur
  • 10 oz. of pure rock candy sugar
  • 3 meyer lemons sliced in wheels
  • 3 blood oranges sliced in wheels
  • 9 cloves
  • 5 whole star anise
  • 7 all spice
  • 3 whole cinnamon sticks

THEN

Place all of the ingredients in a mason jar for 30 days. After this period has ended, strain out all raw items. To serve, pour 3.5 oz. of the recipe into a mixing glass with ice and stir for 30 seconds. Strain over rocks glass with one large ice block. Add two dashes of angostura bitters and garnish with fresh orange wheel and a maraschino cherry.

WHAT

ONEHOPE Wine’s Cinnamon Orange Mulled Wine
Bells are ringing, snow is falling, and a traditional English beverage is coming home for the holidays with ONEHOPE Wine, a non-profit wine service that donates half of its selling profits to make an impact. Read the recipe below and then get festive, give back, and get drunk.

HOW

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 1 bottle of ONEHOPE Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 orange zested and juiced
  • 10 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 cloves
  • 3 star anise
  • 2 oranges peeled for garnish

THEN

Combine the cider, wine, honey, orange juice, zest, two cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise in a large sauce pan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for ten minutes. Pour into mugs and garnish with orange peels and cinnamon sticks.

The Sun Rising
An elevated drink that draws inspiration from autumn’s fiery sunrise, the Sun Rising combines hints of the toffee and caramel flavored rum with citrus bitters and tasty sherry for a warm-filling fall cocktail.

HOW

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. FACUNDO™ EXIMO™
  • 0.25 oz. Amontillado sherry
  • 0.25 oz Oloroso sherry
  • 0.25 oz. Pedro Ximénez sherry
  • 1 dash orange bitters

THEN

Stir all ingredients with plenty ice until very cold. Serve into a coupe glass with no garnish.

WHAT

The Contrary Mary
Though you probably know it by another, more alliterate name, The Top of The Standard at The Standard, High Line in NYC is arguably as famous for the celebrities it entertains as the concoctions the beautiful bartenders readily swirl. As brunch season slowly dissipates until next Spring—and by dissipates we mean goes from five days a week to two—we look to the hotel’s newly introduced Contrary Mary, a broken-down interpretation of the Sunday morning hungover favorite, with hopeful eyes and an open mouth.

HOW

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice of cucumber (plus additional for garnish)
  • 1 slice of celery (plus additional for garnish)
  • Pinch of parsley
  • 1 basil leaf
  • Dash of Tabasco
  • 0.25 ounces simple syrup
  • 0.5 ounces strained lemon juice
  • 3 ounces of tomato water (separate recipe)
  • 2 ounces of vodka
  • Salt for rim

THEN

In a shaker, muddle one slice of both cucumber and celery, along with the of parsley and basil leaf. Follow with a drop of Tabasco, simple syrup, lemon juice, spiced tomato water, and Vodka. Shake and strain over ice in a salt-rimmed rocks glass. Finally, garnish with cucumber, celery leaf, and a golden grape tomato (optional).
