Globe-Trotter teams up with Alexander McQueen to give the luggage brand’s classic shapes a rock ‘n’ roll flair in two exclusive cases. The 13” mini utility case and the 21” trolley case feature multiple hallmarks of the British fashion house: black leather covered in silver studding and riveting, accented by a skull padlock, and lined inside with the McQueen signature skull print in ivory and black. The utility case features a cross-body strap for ease and comfort, while the trolley offers up extra security with a leather strap around the middle of the suitcase. Combined with Globe-Trotter’s century-long commitment to creating durable and functional luggage, the bags not only look hardcore, but are built to live it.

The bags retail for $1,415 and $3,295 respectively, and are available now online.

You might recall Russell Westbrook was the punchline of one of Drake’s best jokes during last week’s 2014 ESPY awards show, but the three-time NBA all-star (and apparent fashion victim) has just launched a clothing line in collaboration with luxury retailer Barneys New York that might be changing Drizzy’s opinion. Entitled “Westbrook XO-Barneys New York” the collection marks the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard’s inevitable debut in department stores nationwide and features denim, sportswear, leather goods, eyewear, footwear, and luggage all repping Westbrook’s playful style.

This first season of the ongoing collaboration features limited edition pieces in partnership with a diversity of power brands, including Jordan, Marcelo Burlon County of Milan, Naked & Famous, Want les Essentiels de la Vie, Selima Optique, Del Toro, and Globe Trotter. Westbrook was directly involved in the design process, ensuring that the collection reflects his well-documented personal aesthetic.

Colorful prints and extended silhouettes dominate, as does the long-trending combination of athletic shorts and man-leggings. And while averaging 20+ points per game might provide the confidence for some to sport a few of these styles, the full collection is now available online and at Barneys New York stores nationwide.

Travel in Storied Luxury with Turnbull and Asser x Globe-Trotter

GLOBE-TROTTER angle_1

Distinguished UK companies Turnbull and Asser and Globe-Trotter have partnered for a limited-edition release of two travel cases that combine the best of both brand’s illustrious histories. Established in 1885, Turnbull and Asser has a stellar reputation for gentleman’s bespoke garments, having dressed everyone from Picasso to Charlie Chaplin. Only a smidge younger, Globe-Trotter first emerged in 1897 and has since served a similarly impressive clientele that includes both Sir Winston Churchill and HM Queen Elizabeth II. But don’t think the two brands are stuck in the past.

The new Turnbull and Asser x Globe-Trotter collaboration re-interprets the classic travel case into two new forms with enhanced technical features and updated aesthetic design. Lined with Turnbull and Asser’s signature blue gingham (used famously in their shirts), the exclusive cases also carry an enhanced vulcanized fibreboard exterior and leather trim, providing additional durability. Both pieces, however, still retain the sense of original craftsmanship that has fueled both companies since each’s birth. Launching on July 21, 2014, the collaboration will be available for purchase at Turnbull and Asser’s retail stores, as well as online, in 18” ($1605) and 21” ($1835) versions. Sure to improve your summer travel experience—even during a layover—the new cases will ensure that you exude style no matter wherever it is you land.
