David LaChapelle Shoots Kenzo’s FW19 Campaign

Kenzo (now under the creative direction of Felipe Oliveira Baptista) has just released its new campaign for Fall/Winter 2019 shot by David LaChapelle. The designer first collaborated with the acclaimed photographer on the Spring ’19 campaign before granting him even more creative freedom for a psychedelic second campaign. The result is less of a traditional fashion campaign but instead a crossroads of high art, luxury, and advertising.

The ultra bright images are postcards featuring kitsch locations and pop-art garments. LaChapelle wanted to evoke the wanderlust incite by social media travelers in this shots with Kenzo by densely layering them in a collage style. The look parallels Kenzo’s international sensation and a community of patrons jet setting around the world.

Check out some images from the Kenzo FW19 campaign in the gallery above.

David LaChapelle Welcomes You to Kenzotopia

Kenzo has released their Spring/Summer 2019 campaign, shot by the iconic photographer, artist, and filmmaker, David LaChapelle, who is a long-time hero of the French label. Creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim set out to portray a genuine utopia, which the photos reify in their vibrancy and optimism. They were shot at LaChapelle’s studio in Los Angeles where the photographer assembled together with the euphorically colorful streetscapes, urban views, and vibrant outdoor color accents. The photos star models as well as dancers, musicians, students, and even featuring Leon’s own mother, Wendy, in a cameo. Check out the images below~

Happy Holidays from Us and Mario Testino

Screen Shot 2014-01-01 at 1.13.38 PM

It’s lunch time on the first day of the new year. You’re hungover, sleepy, and—crap—just realized you never sent out a holiday card. In fact, you never even took one! How déclassé. Now you’re left with two options that you must quickly decide upon in order to save social face: 1) hope to god David LaChapelle isn’t too tied up with Happy Socks and can squeeze you in his studio à la the Karadashians or 2) take advantage of Mario Testino’s online Holiday Card generator. In honor of the holidays, the fashion photographer has placed some of his most iconic firework imagery in an online kaleidoscope, allowing anyone to make their own unique holiday card. All you have to do is swirl, click, and voilà you have your own designer greeting card, complete with Testino’s signature. How chic. Since doing anything that requires getting out of bed seems immediately impossible right now (re: that hangover), we think you know how’d we choose. See some of our favorite designs below, and get to work!
