WOOLRICH x N.HOOLYWOOD Capsule Drops Today

Woolrich and N. Hoolywood have collaborated on a 12-piece collection of outerwear. The line, which made its debut during NYFW in February, combines design elements from some key archival Woolrich pieces and updates them with N. Hoolywood’s distinct urban flair.

“It was an experiment to see what happens if you combine the strength of weak points,” Daisuke Obana, founder of N. Hoolywood, said in a statement. As a result, the new range is versatile and can adapt to many different environments. The contrast between camouflage and check prints is a recurring visual motif throughout the pieces of shirts, jackets, and pants, that embody this seasonal flexibility. The central piece of the collection is a sleek bomber that’s been enhanced with premium materials and accented with neon mesh detailing, perfectly encapsulating the harmony between vintage and contemporary.

The WOOLRICH x N.HOOLYWOOD collection is available online now. Read our interview with Daisuke Obana here.

N.Hoolywood Does the Outdoors for Fall 19

Shearling lining, oversized cable knits, large backpacks, and other items you’d need for a peaceful retreat into the woods were all included in N.Hoolywood‘s Fall ’19 collection. The latest offering from Japanese/American designer Daisuke Obana was heavy on layering, featuring looks that opted for maxim insulation and contrasting them with relaxed, deconstructed pieces. Camouflage, plaid, and other prints (like wolf graphics on select sweaters) and pops of color against monochromatic ensembles breathed energy in the collection, which was additionally enhanced by sneakers designed in collaboration with New Balance. And the number of utility pockets, pouches, and large backpacks featured seem to suggest a shift away from the designer fanny pack trend into something more utilitarian and practical — see for yourself below.

Continuing his love for the resonance of vintage fashion, Daisuke Obana, the designer behind Japanese brand N. Hoolywood, showed an Autumn/Winter 2014 collection of 1920’s- inspired tailored camel coats, burgundy and metal-colored double breasted jackets, and leather goods galore. Held in the raw downstairs basement of a building in New York’s Financial District, see the behind the scenes of the Prohibtion-era collection below:
