Consider Your Holiday Ornaments Contemporary Art With WorkOf

WorkOf is launching its third Holiday Ornament Series featuring unique contemporary ornaments with proceeds going to Scope of Work, a social impact organization focused on making creative industries more inclusive. The assortment (available by auction) features contributions from 50 independent artists, including brands like Bode, Bronsen, and Cofield amongst others. And so, instead of good old boring holiday ornaments, the best gift is charity and contemporary art. Chic and festive, each piece is also just a piece d’art — Zeray’s “Thank You” bag ornament has quickly become been a holiday favorite followed by “Thing 1 and Thing 2” by Bec Brittan. The bid’s start at $50 for the perfect, thoughtful gift for the holiday season that isn’t the typical evergreen piece, socks, or a scarf. Support art and creativity both for the sake of the artists and your decor.

HUF x Mark Bodé Collaborate for Capsule Collection

American skate brand HUF and American artist Mark Bodé have teamed to honor the Bodé family legacy in a graphic capsule collection. The late legendary artist Vaughn Bodé is known for influencing street art movements and pioneering underground comics, and this inspiration is clearly evident in the pieces.

Mark wants to carry on the family legacy by using classic Bodé characters in the garments. The collection includes a range of jackets, fleece, tees, hats, socks, and accessories, all incorporating the bright comic book aesthetic with vivid colors and funky illustrations. On top of the capsule, Bodé has created 12 limited-edition Painter’s Jackets, each replete with the artist’s signature work.

The HUF x Mark Bodé collection drops on June 20th at select stores and online. Check out some pieces from the collection above.

Bode Wants You to Customize Your Cords

Runner-up of the 2018 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, Bode launched a new line of traditional cord trousers, with a twist, naturally. Emily Bode, the creator of the namesake New York-based label is renowned for her approach to the variety of conceivable textiles, thus often creating exclusive items with an artisanal touch. The initiative aims to revive the classic style, and each pair is custom-made by an in-house artist to reflect the vigorous compilation of your memories, places, symbols, and anything else that can be printed onto a pair of corduroy trousers to make them unique. Remember when everyone would personalize their own jeans in high school by having their friends sign them in Sharpie? This is the next best thing.

The “Senior Cords” trousers are available on Bode’s website and by appointment now.
