Suite Deals on a Private Jet: JetSuite
Here’s a little secret—chartering a private jet isn’t that fabulous. Just kidding—it really, truly is. And it’s probably the only way to successfully one-up your pals traveling in such low brow seating as business class or slightly more acceptable first class. We kid, but we are surprised to learn, charting a private jet actually sometimes be cheaper than flying even—shudder—coach.
Just how? What you should do is bookmark the website of JetSuite—the private jet company of Alex Wilcox, a name you may better know as a founder of JetBlue. Since 2009 he’s been running a modern and robust fleet of Phenom 100s (4 passengers) and Citation CJ3s (6-7 passengers) that are ready to the hire to fly within the US and jaunts to the Caribbean.
Normally, yes, they are what we might call, pricey. A CJ3 down to Miami could put you back a cool 10 grand (though that’s split 6 ways mind you…) but it doesn’t have to. JetSuite is from industry innovator Alex Wilcox so fittingly, the company is offering some unexpected deals that could get you and your pals (or for Father’s Day, maybe dad?) to destinations in the US for well under what it costs to fly in that nasty five letter word that starts with a “c.”
On their “Suite Deal” page, you can get last minute one-way flights for $536…including tax…for the entire plane. Split that four ways and yeah, you’re actually starting to look at a method of transportation that could be not all too much more expensive than driving. Like now, you can get yourself from Portland, Oregon to San Jose California for that price. Or from El Paso, Texas to Scottsdale, Arizona. So, ok, maybe it’s not the answer to all of your private jet setting dreams, but for the savvy traveler, JetSuite is clearly one place to check when you’re feeling very fly-by-the-seat.
