Color Blocking For Your Health: Nike + Fragment Design
Color blocking isn’t just a currently trending movement in sportswear; it’s a style that’s being used functionally in clothing created for actual sport. For instance, the collaboration between Nike and Fragment Design, which takes the paneling of color past simple aesthetics and mixes up fabric media and affixation methods to create temperature regulating clothing that are still visually relevant. The light weight Convertible jacket ($249) comes with detachable bolero sleeve (that’s shoulder and arm, btw) and could easily be worn to the gym and then messed with for some attitude. The track suit (which is due for a revival any minute now) is made to keep you cool in the heat and comes with a packable pocket for travel. The pants are elasticized at the bottom, a styling note we saw repeatedly in the Fall 2013 shows along with color blocking. So start early, healthy and wise. Why not, especially when there are gold, light blue, navy and green to choose from.
