French bicycle parts manufacturer Mavic pushes the boundaries of technical fashion with its athletic road headwear collection. Established in 1889, the company has been an official partner and sponsor of the Tour de France since the 1970s, and is famous for producing children’s pedal cars in the ’30s. Over the last decade, the brand has progressed into cycling apparel, shoes, and accessories, as seen specifically in its road headwear collection. However, just because these pieces were intended for the mountain roads, it doesn’t mean they aren’t adaptable to everyday situations.
The collection features two roadie caps, one of which even rain and wind protective, ideal for those blustery days when the wind whips your limited edition snapback right off your head. Additionally, the branding stitched in immediately recalls the soon-to-be-iconic Alexander Wang x H&M “Wang” hats—meaning these Mavic joints are a good alternative if you missed out on that drop.
It’s no secret that masks are persistently trendy, and Mavic delivers with both the neck warmer and balaclava styles. While not as dazzling as Ye’s infamous Margiela one, these share similarities to the predictably sold-out A.P.C. x Kanye Ski Mask, while also being highly protective against the elements. Advanced warming power fabric allows breathability while providing insulation and durability.
