Old School Art Meets Street Style: Off-White at the Louvre

Two worlds and ages collide in Off-White‘s new collaboration with Paris’ famed museum the Louvre in a meeting of the traditional and contemporary, the old and the new. The special collaboration will feature ready-to-wear pieces in typical Off-White fashion, with bold logo placements and diamond arrows. These symbols will be juxtaposed with prized paintings from the institution. Amongst the included works are mostly Leonardo da Vinci’s works of art in the celebration of the 500th anniversary of his death in France.

A visionary in the arts, sciences, and technology, da Vinci has been one of Abloh’s biggest inspirations since his high school art class. “To me, he symbolizes everything the Renaissance was,” said Abloh in a release. And so the collection of T-shirts and hoodies features the artist’s Virgin and Child with Saint John the Baptist and an Angel, known as the Virgin of the Rocks, and Saint Anne, the Virgin Mary, and the Infant Jesus Playing with a Lamb, known as Saint Anne. This collaboration between the designer with the esteemed art institution revives the pieces that have been dreamily displayed on the walls of the museum into an entirely new — and wearable — concept.

The collection will be available via the Louvre gift shop and e-commerce, Off—White.com, Farfetch.com, and in select shops including Off-White™ Paris, Off-White™ Milan, EM_PTY Gallery, and Browns.
