Legendary Race Car Driver Makes Adobe Road Wine

Every winemaker is a race car driver himself with time, weather, and a million other outside influences to ultimately have the reward of a good wine. Though a winemaker is rarely an actual exceptional race car driver as is Kevin Buckler, of Adobe Road Winery. He looks least as a winemaker in his automobile attire and accessorized with an exclusive Rolex Daytona watch which he won at the Daytona Beach Classic.  While he is still an avid race car driver, Buckler’s newest passion follows through with his love of wine.

In 2002 he opened a small boutique winery called Adobe Road following the same principles as his driving career. He paid meticulous attention to detail and teamwork as well as pushing the limits of California wines. After 16 years of winemaking, Adobe Road has put together a team of four winning wines dubbed the Racing Series.

The compilation features wines with sentimental value to the founder himself. The Redline is silkscreened with a vintage tachometer representing Buckler’s very first victory. It is a rich blend that truly represents the winery. The second, Shift, the bottle is a daring assemblage topped with a five-speed shift knob on the cork.  Paying homage to Buckler’s Daytona, The 24 is representative of the 24-hour races and the TRG car number behind all of his victories. This one is a Rhone Valley-style blend of Grenache, Mourvedre, and Syrah, with Malbec for added spice and character. Finally, at the helm of Adobe Winery, Apex is an ultra-premium blend within the family. It is a well-rounded Sonoma Cabernet-Sauvignon.
