KUSTOME COLLABO, A NEW LINE OF LUXURY SNEAKERS LAUNCHING THIS FALL
There’s something “Bond” about Kustome Collabo. Mainly, that their cabal of designers are shrouded in secrecy. What we do know is that the collaborators (hence the name) were assembled over the course of the past 15 years and have known each other from their common work and have traveled and worked together on projects in the past. The first two members have worked as partners since the late nineties. Two additional members were added when the group officially formed in 2009, and the latest member was selected this past February.Headquartered in New York City, but by no means completely derived there (think a mixture of NYC, Tokyo, Milan) the brand makes some uniquely designed, suede and leather sneakers. More or less—they’ve created a luxury brand of sneakers for serious fans of sneakers. Their take on the wrestling shoe is fresh and slick but we’re really drooling over the low top they’re calling “exhibit A” which feature full grain leather, pig-skin lining and a slick pin striped will quarter panel.
