It’s Been A Long Week: Heritage Margarita
As true believers of the work hard, play hard mantra, we present you with It’s Been a Long Week, a weekly column aimed at awarding some liquid appreciation to you for just being yourself, dammit. Make yourself a glass or two, on us — you deserve it.
Our column is 24-hours early this week as we will be drinking margaritas at this time tomorrow celebrating … life and America (obviously.) Independence Day is one of those holidays that fortunately doesn’t have a cocktail assigned to it, so we’ve settled on our favorite summer-day drink: a margarita. This option is made with Patrón Estate tequila harvested directly on the grounds of Hacienda Patrón brings us a step closer to its true home. Offering herbal and citrus notes, the expression is a great choice for sipping neat or drinking in a cocktail that brings out those flavors even more. As usual, we have the recipe too:
- 2 oz Patrón Estate Release
- .75 oz Patrón Citrónge Orange
- 5 oz Persian lime juice
- .5 oz Key lime juice
- .25 oz Simple syrup
- Key lime wheel for garnish
- Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
- Shake with ice to chill.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail coupe.
- Garnish with a key lime wheel.
