Gold Notting Hill Is New on Portobello Road
London’s latest restaurant Gold Portobello Road is a marriage between the menu from ex-River Café’s chef Theo Hill and drinks from Scout’s Matt Whiley and Rich Woods. The elevated bohemian decor evokes the lush vibes of Mexico City while still embodying the essentials of cosmopolitan West London.
Smack on London’s picturesque Portobello Road amidst it’s industrial past, the restaurant and bar was designed by local architect and design duo Felix and Valerie von Bechtolsheim. The two intentionally left a stripped back aesthetic to exposes the original foundation of the building for a cozy nostalgic feel. Industrial details and contemporary furniture is there to contrast the vintage feel giving it a modern edge.
The space spans a whopping four floors with a bar and open-kitchen area, a lush garden as well as a retractable rooftop. It is truly a location where anyone can find their own personal nook accompanied with yummy meals and mixology.
