Gilded at the End of the World: Gilded Age Fall 2013

Gilded Age Stephan Miljanic Standard Hotel East Village Menswear Fall 2013 Fashion Week mad max future

In order to enter the moody, subterranean world filled with Stefan Miljanic’s vision of a not too distant future, you had to enter through an unmarked, grey door hidden next to the entrance of the Standard East Village. Inside—a cinematic presentation of the coolest night club at the end of the world—think Darwinian-fit, neo-punk jocks and the vibe immortalized in the film Mad Max. There were vintage leathers in modern shapes, slim overdyed denim, coated stretch cottons and wools. Colors were dark but yellows and jades were also present. Continuing the brand’s commitment to using organic and artesian products, this season they’re launching “Annuit Coeptis,” a collection of vintage inspired denim made with Japanese denim woven out of Zimbabwean cotton.
