With all that Memorial Day business behind us, we can now turn to the next major warm weather event on the calendar—The 4th of July. No doubt, there’s plenty of sartorial stars and stripes to be worn in celebration, but we’ve got our eyes fixated on the Spring/Summer 2013 collection from Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply. Within, you’ll of course find the literal in their stylish use of the American Flag, looking delicious and vintage-y on their denim jacket and a pair of shorts but there’s also sub-text of Americana that’s sewn into just about every piece—even the cheetah and python print polos (cut with trim collar for the utmost of American prep). That subtlety is more viscerally known as rugged and more elusively as sense of independence. That means lots of city appropriate (read: it fits) western, military and motorcycle wear. You’ll have to shop the collection to get the full idea, or just pop into one of first ever Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply stores that opened for the first time just a few weeks ago in both New York City and Boston.
