Billy Reid Spring 2013: A More Sophisticated South

Billy Reid Spring 2013: A More Sophisticated South

His first collection since snagging the CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year Award (Back in June), Reid delivered with a collection that harkened back to 1930’s/40’s era Americana. Probably the most sophisticated collection from Reid to date, he presents looks that despite looking backwards in time, are re-imagined in a rather relaxed and modern look. We’d hardly say youthful, but there’s a casual coolness to the collection should challenge Reid’s younger fans to explore with looser fits, and fabrications that they’re probably not that used to (like twill). Some of our favorites include the peach and cream bomber, patterned shorts and  gorgeous roped shoulder on the double breasted Continental Jacket.
