Backstage Look at Givenchy Spring/Summer 2020
As a guest star at Pitti Imaginaire, Givenchy staged its Spring/Summer show in Florence’s Villa Palmieri seeking inspiration in Hubert de Givenchy’s love for old Italy and chiaroscuro as well as Charles Baudelaire’s poetry and Art Nouveau shapes back at home in France. Clare Waight Keller warped those ideas into a modern masculine Paris with technical cuts and engineered outerwear (updated with ultra-light Korean textiles from reflective metallics to velvet-touch nylon) with a twist of blooming print pieces. The collection boasts a palette of pale washes from damask rose to powder blues, inky night tones, burgundy, and violets like a luxury French perfume. Check out some backstage photos below.
