A New Smart Watch from Mondaine

In a market flooded with smart-watches and wearable technology, iconic Swiss watchmaker Mondaine is breaking free of the pack and offering up an advanced upgrade of its design favorite typeface timepiece, released earlier this year. Standing true to the core values upon which the brand prides itself—timeless, simple, different, cross-generational—this newest edition, dubbed the Mondaine Helvetica 1 Smart 1957 Special Edition, is in a class of its own. Beyond a simple a wearable device, the piece not only tells time via its analogous hands, it also tracks activity and sleep and offers sleep cycle alarms, get-active alerts, adaptive coaching, and automatic time alignment. The watch sports bi-directional communication via the MotionX app, which can be paired with any smart device to share and back up data, and includes a limited edition engraved backing: a fiery red “1” that mimics touches of design on the face plate. Unlike others in its field, the watch does not report data to the user in a digital format, but rather it delivers in an analog fashion via the sub-dial, keeping the watch aesthetically consistent among the Swiss watch product line. With only 1,957 watches in production, in honor of the year that the Helvetica font was first created, 1957, and a whopping 2+ years of battery life, the Mondaine Helvetica 1 Smart 1957 Special Edition is an updated go-to for any tech savvy man who doesn’t want to sacrifice impeccable style for 21st-century functionality.
