Fair Isle Done 14 Ways—Sweaters, Socks, Sneakers and More

Back in the early 1920′s when then Prince of Wales, Edward VIII, took to wearing some multi-color knit tank tops crafted on some place called Fair Isle in Scotland, he probably never imagined that some of the world’s most respected designers would, about 90 years later, make it one of the staples of menswear style. To be sure, true Fair Isle can only be made on the Scottish island of said name, but who is anyone in fashion to stick to the rules? And actually, who even said Fair Isle has to be knit? There’s a watch here that would beg to differ. After the jump, you’ll find the sharpest, styles of Fair Isle for sale right now. Backpacks, gloves, scarves, hats, hoodies, socks and, well…more.

Keds First Spring Apparel Collection Coming Exclusively to Opening Ceremony This Month

By Matt Bell | | Style & Grooming

Being that the Keds brand and our collective experience as American children seem to go hand in hand, a Keds apparel collection meant to be worn by adults might be referred to as ironic. Operative word—might. On the contrary, the first ever Keds spring collection of apparel is a clear reflection of contemporary casual men’s fashion and as such, steers clear of the irony moniker and lands squarely in the land of deferential young adult style. Slim cut cotton twill chinos and light jackets appear in aqua blue while a canvas blazer and pique crew neck sweater look simple and fresh in classic American blue. A short sleeved floral print button up and bright yellow shorts punch up the collection with just the right bit of youthful nerve. Keds may still recall the bygone laughter of kindergarden, but it looks as if they’ve made the first few successful steps in fastening themselves to those carefree moments occurring thereafter. The spring collection, Keds second ever in the apparel category, will launch exclusively at Opening Ceremony on April 25th. Check out the full look book after the jump.
