Part of Diesel‘s three-part series of collections, Shayne Oliver is revamping the Italian brand with an old classic Americana take on denim for the label’s Red Tag collection. The new capsule was unveiled in Paris this weekend with swinging platforms, endless cocktails, and numerous references to American pop culture.
Renzo Rosso, the founder of the brand, says he brought Oliver on board because “all the cool is coming from America right now,” according to Vogue. Indeed, Oliver’s pieces call out to major moments on America’s late pop scene. His head-to-toe looks remind us of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s 2001 Grammys stunt. Remember their power-couple Canadian tuxedo? Leave it to Diesel to take the worst of the early-oughts generation and manipulate it into something awesome.
