Not many men wrap a Tarantino western, then begin filming a classic remake helmed by Luhrmann, and then begin work on a Scorsese crime drama. In fact, no man but one: The great Leonardo Dicaprio. Last week at the Plaza Hotel, Leo joined his Gatsby co-stars Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire (plus a guy named Jay-Z) at the New York premiere of the film. And what’s that looking dapper on his wrist? That would be a TAG Heuer CARRERA Calibre 1887 Rose Gold timepiece. This stunning piece of wrist bling is the reengineered offspring of Edouard Heuer’s original timepiece, which originally made waves back in 1887 with its oscillating pinion. Inspired by motor racing, the timepiece features a double anti-reflective treatment to enhance readability as well as scratch resistant sapphire crystal fitted into the caseback. If we can’t all look like Leo, might as well adorn ourselves in his likeness, right?

Last night, Ferragamo celebrated the launch of L’Icona, an online project curated by photographer, Claiborne Swanson Frank, (which goes live today), in recognition of the 35th anniversary of the iconic Vara with a party in New York City. What you’ll find in the project are portraits of some of the world’s most modern and iconic women wearing the Vara. That’s a lot of women’s style talk—your girlfriend will definitely know what the Vara shoe is, but more importantly, check out model Garrett Neff looking completely, effortlessly, suave in head to toe Ferragamo. The tailored orange and white combination jacket is indeed summer’s sunkist and we love how the buttons match the pants. Worn with the sneakers, it gives a sense of motion, youth that is finessed with the matching tie. Here’s an example of how to dress to impress for your spring/summer affairs.
Exciting news from our friends at Burberry in the form of eyewear launching today. So settle in and get acquainted with Burberry Spark, a collection of sunglasses and optical frames that were made specifically to compliment the metallic-meets-iconic theme of their Spring 2013 ready to wear. The sunnies come in streamlined, two toned “Wayfarer” styles, shaded in colors like metallic blue, metallic plum and kelly greens which you saw on the Burberry runway for Spring. The classic aviators are like shaded, feature tonal lenses and are foldable. The optical (not for sale online yet, but will be soon) are distinctly Burberry with the house check featured on the temple, fading into some nicely colored earpieces attached to nice, masculine square frames. In Burberry fashion, the Spark campaign, shot in London and curated by Burberry Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey, celebrates emerging British music talent with bands Coastal Cities, Broken Hands, and The Night V1. We’ve got exclusive images of the optical, extended cut videos of the campaign and some special behind the scenes shots just after the jump.
Shoe laces are…annoying. They’re grimy, nasty dirty things that produce two, strange looking loops. When those loops aren’t dangling near the bacteria infested sidewalk, they’re flopping about, making your shoe/sneaker look a sloppy mess. If you’re the sporting type, the laces dilemma unfolds into actual danger. See: tripping. You can try to tuck them in, be creative with how you lace them or…you can get into these things called “Hickies.” Nevermind the curious name…the product is a simple elastic strap that’s been created to eliminate the need for laces and in the process, turns your lace up into an easy slip on. Simple as that. The elastic laces can adjust tightness, width, be criss crossed and can also be used for things like yoga mat holder or cable cord organizer. They come in a laundry basket of color, from plain white and black to mixed pastels, metalics and even rainbow which can spruce up some looks. And, all for just under $20 a set (14 pair) at hickies.com. Not a bad pre-summer gift to yourself.
