It’s a good day for the wardrobes of American men when purveyors of contemporary French style, Sandro, opens up a store here. Which, until last night, had only happened 4 times before. And only in New York City. Their first non-Big Apple locay opened with much fanfare last night in…Vegas! No really, Las Vegas. Which you might be surprised about until you learn that they’re in the esteemed Forum Shops at Ceasars Palace along side the likes of Burberry, Christian Dior, Louboutin, Louis Vuitton and Salvatore Ferragamo. Not a bad place to be, or first stop on the way over to our Western coast. By summer’s end Sandro will have opened boutiques in Los Angeles and San Francisco marking a full on American expansion of our favorite, growing French brands.  Check out images from the new store, post jump.

Tommy Hilfiger kicked things off for their limited Edition Surf Shack collection/rare-art surf board set in style on Wednesday night at NYC’s No. 8. “I’m excited to celebrate the launch of our Summer 2013 Surf Shack capsule collection and partnership with Art Production Fund,” said Tommy Hilfiger. “The collection represents the Tommy Hilfiger brand’s love of blending East Coast prep with West Coast cool, and I’m honored to have the artists’ surfboards included in the program. Art plays a significant role in my own design process and I’m always inspired to collaborate with great artistic talent.” They also took the occasion to announce nothing less than a cross-continent Surf Shack bus tour starting in San Diego on June 2nd featuring a customized Surf Shack bus that will travel to cities across North America, opening up as a mobile pop-up shop to sell the capsule collection. The last time APC and Nike teamed up was back in April 2012, and the limited edition run sold out in a few hours. So be on the mark with the latest run that drops today. It’s less limited than last time, meaning more pairs, but the collection will still run on a limited basis. They’re offering abjectly minimalist versions of two popular Nike styles—the Nike Air Max and Nike Dunk, that reflect both the French elegance of APC and the American performance of Nike. The tight 16 piece men’s collection loops back to the golden days of American surf style in the early 1960′s—we’ll say something like simplicity in flippant, beachy bodaciousness, but is hewn out of shapes, colors and styles that follow the elegant thread of today’s modern man.
